About Mindi
I am a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist and have
been in practice for over 10 years. I am an American Association
of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisor and
a Clinical Member of AAMFT. I have a bachelor’s degree in
psychology from Emporia State University, a master’s degree
in human development and family studies from Colorado State University
and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University in marriage and family
therapy.
My clinical work has been with adults and children of all ages.
I have worked or volunteered in the areas of premarital counseling,
grief and loss, critical incident stress debriefing, and general
practice in three university clinics. In addition, I worked in
social service settings (family preservation and community mental
health) for 9 years. I have worked primarily with children and
families who have suffered abuse, anxiety, and depression.
I have been a mental health researcher and have several publications.
I have instructed a number of college courses and parenting classes
(see vita).
My work has taught me a deeper understanding and empathy for the
suffering of others. As a result, I am committed to bringing the
most effective and innovative methods of treatment to address the
problems that children and adults face.
Outside of work, I am a proud mother of two young daughters and
have been happily married to my husband, Kyle, for about ten years.
I enjoy spending time with friends and socializing with other mothers.
